Our Favorite Experience in Maui! Will fly with Air Maui again!

First I just want to tell others: SIT ON THE LEFT SIDE! They say it doesn’t matter which side you sit on but the pilot tended to show the people on the left side all of the good stuff for a long period of time and then would show us people on the right side the feature (waterfall, cliff, etc) for just a split second – hardly enough time to capture even 2 pictures – before flying off. I wish we would have been seated on the left side or that the pilot would have given us people on the right side more than a couple of seconds of each feature. I don’t mean that to sound negative, just letting other people know so that if they read this, they know to ask to be seated on the left side (not sure if they would even let you pick since they try to distribute the weight evenly).

That being said though: Ultimately it was an amazing experience! In fact, this was our absolute favorite experience we had during our stay in Maui! I love that they had a doors-off option. DEFINITELY do the doors off version! Once you go doors-off, you never go doors-on again! It was SO much better than having doors.

Also props to the staff for being some of the most friendly staff we experienced while in Maui, and that’s saying a lot! These people were really great and made sure we had a great experience from start to finish. I can HIGHLY recommend flying with Air Maui and we will definitely fly with them again on our next visit!

The helicopter tour was absolutely amazing! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour and was the highlight of our vacation. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. 

Awesome helicopter flight

I went to the office a say early for recon. Everyone was very friendly and organized. The fligjt was awesome!live the way Nathan flys! This is a must do to see parts of Maui you can’t see from the ground

The pilot was great, with his stories of different parts of the trip and his play list for the trip was awesome..
We were concern about the winds, wife has never been in a helicopter but the 45 min tour was so smooth with no worries..
Waterfalls are breath taking..
Worth the money!!!! 

Well worth the money

Gorgeous ride. The pilot was skilled and informative. Pointed out spots as we cruised along the coast and inland over lush green landscapes. Well worth the money 

Take the helicopter tour- it is worth it!

Had a lovely time on this great helicopter tour! We had to change routes due to weather but got to see lovely waterfalls, valleys, ocean cliffs, and Molokai. I love taking helicopter tours in the Hawaiian islands because so many places are inaccessible. 

AMAZING! Love the chopper tour.

Fantastic experience! The views of Haleakala were breathtaking. We had driven up there and it was clear when we started but clouded in by the time we got up there. The helicopter was the way to see this.
It had rained the night before so the waterfalls were incredible.
Our pilot, Cameron, did a great job of narrating and making sure both sides of the chopper had a great view. 

Must do!

Such a fun and unique experience! The captains were great and so helpful. While heading to Molokini they told us such great history about the Crater and the surrounding islands. Definitely would do again! 

It is worth it!!!

It was very informative. Love the enthusiasm and the jokes of our pilot. I learned the history while being amazed of the beauty of Maui. 

Mindblowing, incredible

This was completely amazing. I had the front left seat looking right out over the ocean, the islands, the mountains, and the waterfalls. I wasn’t able to take many pictures because my brain was so full of wonder at the view (and, okay, terror at being in a doors-off helicopter!) that I couldn’t think about taking photos. But the few photos I got were amazing because the views are just unbelievable. This is the kind of thing you see in nature documentaries that you never think you’ll get to see in real life. Can’t recommend this enough. 

Do not skip this experience!!

Easily the highlight of our honeymoon! The booking process was a little hectic because they require a minimum of 4 passengers to confirm the booking. There were only two of us that wanted the tour that day so we had to wait until the morning of the tour to find out if we would be able to go or not. But we got there in time and had a great time. We got to see views in the mountains there are really no other ways of seeing! Our pilot was friendly and put us all at ease, making sure we let him know if anything made us uncomfortable. It was my first time ever in a helicopter and now I’m ready to take lessons! It was such a memorable experience and a must-do!! 

Just wow!

What a great experience! My 15 year old grandson and I loved the tour. So many things you just can’t see any other way. Very well run tour. Safety was priority and we felt safe and relaxed. Loved the Molokia Island view.

Highly recommend this awesome tour. Tour guide and staff are amazing. Ocean view looking down is breathtaking. 

Birds eye view of Maui

This was my first time flying in a helicopter and it was very exciting. We took the doors on tour and we loved the experience although I was sitting in the back of the helicopter in the middle so I didn’t have the best view. The people seated in front with the pilot had the best view. Our pilot was very informative, knowledgeable and courteous. He made efforts to change directions so people on both sides of the helicopter had ample opportunity to take pictures. We would definitely take another tour with Air Maui the next time we are in Maui. We will try the doors off tour next time. 

Breathtakingly Beautiful!

The scenery was gorgeous and breathtaking! The pilot was friendly and informative. We loved the up close views of these remote beaches and waterfalls.
