If you are planning to be in Maui for this holiday season check out some of the fun events below! There are plenty of fun events for adults and families throughout Maui. Visit Santa, see the lights, eat some yummy holiday food, or build your very own sand snowman!
Christmas Dinner
If you are looking for a great restaurant to enjoy your Christmas Eve or Christmas Day meal, there are lots of wonderful restaurants on Maui offering something special for your holiday meal from buffets to 3 course dinners. Fleetwood’s in Lahaina, Ka’ana Kitchen at the Andaz, or Nylos in Paia are a few great choices.
The Holiday Express Sugar Cane Train
From now until December 31 come ride the festively decorated train and enjoy milk and cookies and a visit with Santa. Regular tickets are $35 and premium tickets are $50. Children 2 and younger are free and the Kama’aina discount is 10%. The train ride is from 6:30-8:00pm.
Queen Ka’ahumanu Mall
Santa will be at the mall from now through December 24th. Come take your picture with Santa and see him feed the reindeer from 1-2pm or 5-6pm. There will also be gift wrapping available at the mall during the two weekends before Christmas and several special events on Saturday, December 22 including a Keiki Craft Class with Mrs. Claus. Maui Mall
Take a free photo with Santa in exchange for a canned food item for the Maui Food Bank on Saturday Dec. 15, 2018 from 12-5 pm, Wednesday Dec. 19, 2018 from 5-7:30 pm, and Saturday Dec. 22, 2018 from 12-5 pm.
Shops at Wailea
Santa will also be at the Shops at Wailea every night from 1pm-7pm through December 24th. There will also be free gift wrapping from 9:45am-9:00pm from the 19th-23rd and from 9:45am-7:00pm on the 24th.
Lahaina Banyan Tree
The banyan tree in Lahaina is decorated for the season with over 6,500 sparkling lights. Front Street is also decorated with 64 Christmas wreaths and has lots of fun shops to visit for Christmas presents or treats.
Christmas 5K Run & Santa’s Half Mile Keiki Dash
Christmas 5K and a Santa’s Half Mile Keiki Dash will be taking place on Sunday, December 16th. They will also be collecting donations for the Maui Food Bank. There will be a potluck following the event.
Christmas Cruise
The Pacific Whale Foundation offers a Christmas Brunch and a Christmas Dinner Cruise. Let someone else do the cooking and cleaning while you eat, drink and be merry.
Although Air Maui is closed on Christmas Day, we are open for the rest of the holiday season! December is a great time to take a flight with Air Maui as waterfalls are usually quite beautiful due to the rain and also it is whale season, so you might get lucky and see whales during your flight!
